See photos in our photos folder , but the one below demonstrates the joy that they all get working together with the craft activity.
Since lockdown last March 2020 we have not been able to hold our usual monthly Generations sessions. We held an Afternoon Tea in August & a Soup Lunch in October.

Ebenezer Methodist Church in Jersey is bringing together the eldest and youngest members of its congregation in a new club called ‘Generations’. The idea was inspired by the Channel 4 television programme 'Old People’s Home for 4 Year Olds' which examined the social and health benefits of the elderly making friends with the young. The activities all have children in mind, however the older attendees are as excited to get involved and are often filled with feelings of nostalgia or eager to try something new. |
July 2019- Teddy Bear's picnic to celebrate our first school year of Generations. Started Autumn 2018, restarts Sept. 2019

THE WELL NEWS |

GENERATIONS - This came about after Ebenezer’s Leadership Team had seen the 2018 -TV programme ‘Old People’s Home for 4 years old’ and a new series on Channel 4 which has just finished.
It was an amazing experience for all those who took part, young and old alike and with added proven health benefits..
We have 10 children keen to meet our more senior folks from our island community, so if you know of any elderly people who would benefit from an afternoon of fun, song and a cup of tea for a chat let Amy Britton know.
We are also well aware of loneliness amongst our elderly community , & we intend to reach out where we can.
It is recognised that 1 in 4 people suffer with loneliness in their later life. The UK government have recognised this need & in 2018 appointed a minister for loneliness.
BBC Radio Jersey came to our February 2019 session & made a recording, this can be heard by going to our ...LINKS.... tab , see below: 'GENERATIONS' interview Feb. 2019
